Donald S. Donnalson, Esq. is a licensed attorney, second-generation general contractor, and real estate broker with more than two decades of experience transforming multi-family and commercial properties across Massachusetts. He is the Founder and President of Beantown Builders Inc., a design-build construction firm known for managing complex renovations and new developments with precision and care. Donald also leads ExitMyMulti, a specialized real estate brokerage focused on acquiring, repositioning, and reselling distressed multi-family properties.

With a J.D. from Northeastern University and bar admission in Massachusetts, Donald brings a rare legal perspective to permitting, compliance, and negotiations. Combined with deep construction and real estate experience, his multidisciplinary approach ensures smooth execution from concept to closing.

Under his leadership, Beantown Builders has successfully completed multi-million dollar projects across Greater Boston. Through ExitMyMulti, he helps property owners unlock value from underperforming assets while facilitating thoughtful redevelopment that strengthens neighborhoods.

Donald serves on the boards of MassHire and the Metro South Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of industry development programs such as the Eastern Bank Business Equity Initiative, Inner City Capital Connections, and the Suffolk Construction Trade Series.

Architect, Operations & Design Lead

As Beantown Builders’ Operations & Design Lead, Donald “Donnie” Respress brings a rare combination of architectural vision, engineering discipline, and business acumen. With more than 15 years of corporate experience at industry-leading firms including General Electric, Sensata Technologies, and General Motors, Donnie is known for driving operational efficiency and delivering strategic oversight across complex projects.

Donnie’s background includes eight years in architectural design, where he has contributed to and led projects spanning mixed-use developments, higher education facilities, and multi-family housing. He plays an integral role in all of our design-build projects—from schematic design through construction administration—ensuring a seamless integration between design intent and project execution.

His hands-on involvement includes:

Facilitating internal project reviews and consultant coordination meetings
Managing and maintaining detailed project schedules
Creating massing studies, architectural plans, elevations, and construction details
Producing high-quality 3D renderings and immersive VR visualizations

Donnie’s leadership ensures that each project is executed with clarity, precision, and purpose—delivering value from concept to completion.

Mardy brings a wealth of experience and deep-rooted knowledge to the Beantown Builders team. A lifelong Bostonian with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, he has spent decades immersed in both the residential and commercial construction sectors.

His professional background includes expertise in roofing design and replacement, basement refinishing and design, and municipal service as a Local Building Inspector for the Town of Belmont. This diverse experience allows Mardy to guide clients through the remodeling process with both technical insight and practical understanding.

Known for his approachable style and genuine care for people, Mardy excels at building trust with homeowners and helping them navigate complex renovation decisions. He is a committed father who takes pride in raising and supporting his two youngest children—both academically and athletically—as they prepare for high school graduation in the coming years.
